Recently I created a new reading area in my home. I wanted a relaxing space.
Seeking the colors of the ocean I acquired this wonderful lamp from Kirklands. The silk shade was the prettiest color of seafoam.
The glass base reminded me of well worn sea glass. At night the light creates a beautiful diamond pattern on the wall.
To complete the vignette I added a few favorite design books, a silver dachshund recently sent to me by my friend Deborah and bright pink tulips for color.
Now I just need a bit of artwork over the chair.
I like this print. You can almost feel the sand between your toes.
A mirror would be lovely for adding more light into the room. I like how this mirror reminds me of well worn driftwood.
This wire magazine basket placed next to the chair would help keep reading material tidy.

Kirklands has so many lovely items, but at this time of the year, I'm drawn immediately to the garden section. I found the Sentiment Bird Planter which would be perfect for my new kitchen shelf of herbs, the glitzy egg wreath or forsythia wreath are lovely and the three of those items would about use up the gift card.

I did take a peek at the catalog and on page 12/13 there are a pair of black twisted metal candle sconces that my eyes were really drawn to, as well as the front page, the round table with iron work for the legs. Both would be stunning in a cute reading area in my nook! I'd need to add several extra $$ to the gift card, but would be well spent.

Thank you for suggesting the Kirklands website. As you know I am trying to take my kitchen from clutter and dishes on top of the cabinets to a little more refined and decorated look. As I was browsing through there are so many things that I could see using but I really loved the Miniture Dress Form and the Black Bird Cage.
