I’ve been lucky to have had the same true valentine for over 34 years. We first exchanged cards in Miss Dobson’s 3rd grade class.

In reality Valentine’s Day is a holiday for women. Just two days ago a Hallmark commercial came on tv and Mr. Décor said “When is Valentine’s Day?” I laughed out loud and then said “February 14th~ the date never changes”. My one true love is very happy that I spend every second week of February with my childhood pal celebrating her birthday.
So to plan a day in which the details can truly be appreciated, I allow my mind to go all out.
My dear friend arrives via a pink blossom covered lane.

To a home covered in luscious pink climbing roses.

Inside dinner is waiting in a pink fairy wonderland.

Or perhaps a pink peony and seashell delight.

But this is a bit more her style. I could make the roses out of recycled paper bags.

Perhaps there might be a small gift waiting at each place setting.

I really like this ombre centerpiece. Hmmmm…..ideas are swirling.
On the menu? One of her favorites of course~ baked ziti.

Accompanied by a pink champagne punch. But glitter hearts instead of sequined stars.

Her cake would remind us of our childhood days when our favorite television star, Mork, wore rainbow suspenders and we will laugh until our sides hurt.

We’ll reminisce and chat some more while I am seated in this chair….

…and she’ll relax in this one:

Our designated driver will arrive to escort us around town.

The chauffer might wear shoes that look like this:
But it’s patent pink flats for me…

…and tennies for Tracy.

We’ll for sure be seeing this movie~ “The Vow”.

Another cinematic possibility is “Waiting For Forever”.

Completing the chick flick trifecta is “Perfect Sense”.

Then we’ll return home for a late night gab fest and feel like we’re 9 once again.

Who is your special valentine?
Laura

Delightfully pink, Laura! You'll have a wonderful time together with your friend.
My longest-loved Valentine would be my husband.
Great "story"! The Ombre floral arrangement is so fabulous.
I love this so much, Laura!!!
But my husband is the one who attends the "chick-flicks" with me and is so accustomed to watching them at home on DVD as well. He knows that I can't tolerate most action films and so, because he loves me, he tolerates what I love. Though, Sarah and I have been eyeing the movies you mentioned, and so maybe it will have to be a double date.
I view Valentine's Day as a day for everyone. Dad always gave us girls all a heart-shaped box of chocolates and other little gifts and he still does that for our Mom. It's a tradition I've carried onward to our own family. I have many sweet valentines, but only one true love valentine - that's my husband of course.

Such a pretty post!
When we first got married, I had to explain to my new husband that Valentine's Day was important...not
"just another day". Then...we had our first child...on Valentine's DAY! Well...that was the end of our V-day celebrations. We did celebrate V-day first thing in the morning...at breakfast, then the rest of the day was birthday!
What a marvelous post!
So pink and pretty! The pink blossomed lane and the rose covered house would be as far as I would ever go. Ahhhhh....sheer bliss!
Thanks for sharing your pink week party pics! :)
You really know how to pull out all the stops! And in pink too! Beautiful. I guess Valentine's really is a holiday for girls. I have a house full of boys since my daughter is away at college. But I'll be sending her a special box with all kinds of goodies.

This is so special Laura. You will have a girls time to be remembered! I want to see all those movies and I would love to be chauffered around in that old VW.
I know Mr. Decor was pulling your leg!
My favorite Valentine is Mr. T with the Bostons and Bumby the cat coming in a close second - they get extra points for always looking at me with adoration. Okay, well Sadie does.
Have fun with Tracey.
