Oh Holy Night
A few days ago I saw a button on my friend Joy’s blog. It asked a question.
It gave me pause for more than just a moment. I examined my heart and searched my soul.
Nativity ~ John Singleton Copley
In a literal sense I have never been part of the “in crowd”. During the tween years my reflection revealed a girl with buck teeth, hand me down clothes and a bad Dorothy Hamill haircut.
The teen years were just as awkward. Like Joan Cusack “Sixteen Candles” awkward with headgear and rubber bands taking center stage.

The Nativity ~ Gerard van Honthorst
This desire to be accepted continued through young adulthood and if I am completely honest with myself I sometimes still compare and have desires of aligning myself with those who “seem to have it all”.
Nativity ~ Jean-Baptiste-Marie Pierre
But really there is no lasting fulfillment in being part of the in crowd or the Inn Crowd.
The Nativity ~ Martin Schongauer 1480 A.D.
Thankfully, there is a place that everyone will be everlastingly accepted. It began of all places in a very humble stable.
I have turned off the comments today so that I may celebrate this season of advent.
