As promised Royal Wedding Wednesday has returned with the Monaco Edition. We will be covering all things Royal Wedding to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of Prince Albert II of Monaco and his fiancée, Charlene Wittstock. The couple, together since 2006, became engaged in June 2010.

Many caught their first glimpse of the Royal couple when they attended the wedding of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

The civil ceremony will take place on July 1, 2011 at 5 pm Monaco Time in the Palace Throne Room. The religious ceremony will take place on July 2, 2011 at 5 pm in the Palace Courtyard.

CNN, NBC, ABC, and CBS, I am letting you know now that I want coverage.

Your header is beautiful today. I love the colors. I would think there would be some type of coverage.
I can't wait for this one!! :):):):):):):):):):):)
I am so happy RWW is back. I just LOVE all your wonderful and informative coverage of all things royal! Thanks, Laura! I know this is a whole lot of research. We all are addicted to RWW!

Laura,
I think this wedding is more to ensure the royal succession of Monaco's principality. At 50, Albert has a long list of lovers, including two children from different women. However, Monégasque constitution states: only "direct and legitimate" descendants can assume the throne.
Hardly the love story of his parents.
Your Friend,
Deborah
thanks for keeping us updated on this wedding!
I'm a huge fan of RWW! I can tell by the photos of this couple that they're just a tad bit older than Will & Kate... Can't wait to get the details of their romance!
Love the wedding season. Thanks for bringing us this preview of the Royal wedding to come.
Hey!! "Let the Royal Rumpus begin---AGAIN!" Whoo hoo....RWW: Reloaded! I'm really interested in learning more about these royals, having visited Monaco & thinking it a beautiful and strange little corner of the world!

Thank you so much for your Memorial Day post. Our family has been touched so much this year by the realities of the price paid by the wonderful men and women in the Armed Forces.
I spoke to Prince Albert on the phone years ago! Nothing special, except to me :-) He called the office I worked at, and I answered the phone :-) LOL
Blessings,
Marcia
Brewing the tea now...this should be a good read, too!
Egad, but she is gorgeous. That hat she wore at William and Kate's wedding? Not so much.
I was in Monaco last year and loved it. It's such a gorgeous country (I can't believe I saw the whole thing!). The people are also ridiculously beautiful. BTW< in case you didn't know, they pronounce it Mon-AH-co (emphasis on the AH) not MON-aco like we do. The royal palace has positively stunning views and the recorded audio tour has a message from Prince Albert at the beginning. That's a nice touch. The Queen doesn't do that for any of HER palaces. I'm just saying. Anyhoo, yay for new RWW!!!!
Will his illegitimate children be in the wedding?
Oh Sandy!!!
You crack me up. Wish I had a way to contact you. :)
Based on recent research I imagine his two children will attend at least one of the services. He does have positive relationships with both children. Too bad he didn't do the right thing for their mothers.
Oh and shame on the mothers as well.
I just LOVE a Royal Wedding!
So they've been together since 2006, he had a child with someone else in 2007 and she is still marrying him? Hell to the no!
