I have been doing a bit of spring cleaning at Décor To Adore manor. It’s a necessary evil as my cupboards are overflowing and I will soon leave on a buying trip to France seeking new merchandise for Metis Linens.
So what’s a girl who wants a little less clutter and a bit more spending money to do? Share the wealth. While I could place the lovely pieces in my Etsy shoppe or on Ebay, I thought it would be fun to give DTA readers first dibs.
The auction will run from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon (2 pm Arizona time). Most of the items will have an opening bid of $2.00. Yes, you read that right~ $2.00. For pieces with such notable names as Limoges and William Rodgers.
How it will work is that there will be several posts up on Friday. Each post will have one item complete with a description, potential uses for the item, as well as links where you can see other similar items to get a feel for value and pricing. You leave a bid by leaving a comment. If you are the winning bidder on Sunday I will then send you a Pay Pal invoice or make arrangements for payment by personal check.
Shipping will be listed for each item mailed within the 50 states. I am willing to ship to other countries, but please know it will of course cost a bit more.
If the auction is a success it might lead to additional Friday auctions which could feature vintage and antique linens, jewelry and ephemera (vintage and antique collectable items not originally intended to last for more than a short time, such as magazines, letters, or postcards).
Don’t forget to join in on tomorrow’s linky party. There are some great prizes available. Details can be found here.
Happy Fat Tuesday!

Laura...when we lost our computer I lost your email address. I am soooo confused...forgive me, but when is the tea at Carefree? I thought sure you said the 9th of April....but then I see it is the 26th of March?
If you have my email on file, please email me. And no, I don't have any bridesmaid dresses to show....sorry.
Great idea, Laura. I've been editing for months, all closets spilled...a head start on Spring cleaning. Good luck! Trish
Laura, the auction looks like a fun idea. I'll be there.
Thinking of you in your time of loss. ~ Sarah
